Cement Care Guide
Cement care
Built to last.
With a little love.
Our cement vessels, trays, and diffusers are hand-cast for durability and designed to age beautifully. A small amount of care goes a long way in keeping them looking their best.
Here's everything you need to know.
How to clean your cement pieces
01
Wipe, don't soak
Use a damp cloth to wipe the surface. Never submerge cement in water β prolonged soaking weakens the material over time.
02
Mild soap only
For tougher marks, use a small amount of mild dish soap on a damp cloth. Rinse with a clean damp cloth and dry immediately.
03
Dry fully before storing
After cleaning, allow your piece to air dry completely in a well-ventilated spot before placing it back on a shelf or storing it away.
04
Remove wax residue
To clean out a candle vessel, place it in the freezer for 1β2 hours. The wax will contract and lift out easily. Wipe clean with a cloth.
Always do
- Use a coaster or felt pad underneath on delicate surfaces
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
- Dry immediately after any contact with water
- Handle with care β cement can chip if dropped
- Apply a concrete sealant once a year to preserve the finish
Never do
- Never put in the dishwasher
- Never use bleach, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners
- Never soak or submerge in water
- Never place directly on polished or lacquered surfaces without protection
- Never use steel wool or scrubbing pads β they will scratch the surface
Give your vessel a second life
Plant pot
Once your candle is done, clean the vessel and use it as a small succulent or herb planter. The porous cement is naturally breathable.
Desk organiser
Perfect for holding pens, makeup brushes, craft tools, or anything you want within reach. Functional and good-looking.
Trinket dish
Use trays and wider vessels to hold jewellery, keys, hair clips, or bedside essentials. A minimal, elegant catch-all.
Tealight holder
Drop a tealight inside your cleaned vessel for a soft, ambient glow. The cement acts as a natural heat barrier.
Bud vase
Narrower vessels work beautifully as bud vases for a single stem. Simple, intentional, and always elegant on a shelf or table.
Gift vessel
Fill a cleaned vessel with small gifts β chocolates, bath salts, or a rolled note β for a completely unique and reusable presentation.
